26 March 2013 - Eggciting News! We have tickets for Oz: The Great and Powerful - an American Fantasy Adventure Film, showing at MovieStarr this Saturday 30 March 2013. Tickets only £2 per person! If you would like to go, please book tickets in advance. You can do this direct with Angela or text OZ with NAME and number of tickets required through to the Club's mobile on 07930 814920.

17 March 2013 - NEW to cinemas this Friday 22 'The CROODS' and we would like to offer all our members the chance to see this amazingly funny film the very next day - Saturday 23 March 2013. Film starts 11:20am, please see Angela to book and as usuall tickets cost £3 per person.
March 2013 - BRING ON THE SPRING! Easter is fast approaching, with only 3 weeks to go until Easter Weekend! SO, we would like to offer all our young swimmers the chance of winning a PRIZE by entering our 'Easter Colouring Competition' - click here for picture and more details. For any of our older swimmers (12yrs and above) you are more than welcome to join in the fun, but you must create your own Easter Picture and have ready for handing in by Thursday 28 March at the latest. Best picture WINS a PRIZE! So let's get cracking!!

Continuous Swimming - Please be reminded that ALL swimming lessons continue throughout school holiday periods - advance notice will always be given when this is not the case.
ASA Reminder - It is very important that all our swimmers are up-to-date with their ASA Membership - this covers you and the Club. Forms have been distributed and payment must be received as soon as possible. Please speak with any Committee Member re this matter. Please note: There is no part payment of ASA Membership Fees, any members joining after renewals must pay the full fee. This payment is an Annual Charge to ASA and our Renewal Period is within the first quarter of every year.
Achievement Badges - Sometime during March our new Teachers will be assessing swimmers with a view to offering swim badges for the relative stage they are at. If, however, any of our members already have particular badges, could you please speak to Angela re this.

18 February 2013 - Please click here for your update / notification on your ASA Renewal Membership. The new charge is now £13.60 for non-competitive swimmers. Notification will be given out this week and payment is due immediately to cover your childs' and the Clubs Public Liability Insurance.

December 2012 - Yet another great performance for this years' Panto 'Cinderella' - oh yes it was! We hope you all enjoyed the show. Next year, we're in for another treat with 'Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs' - more to come nearer the time - for now, from all at CISC, it's goodbye to 2012 and hello to 2013 - Happy New Year one and all!!!
November 2012 Update - For those of you who attend swimming on Thursdays, you may have noticed a few extra bodies! We are pleased to inform you that we have new members to CISC. Swimming on Thursdays only, Chalkwell Redcaps - an Open Water (Sea, Rivers, Lakes) Social Swimming Group will be swimming with us throughout now until Spring. For those of you that fancy having a go at Open Water swimming (Spring and Summer time only, any age and ability welcomed) why not visit their web and get in touch - New Member Application Forms are being processed January 2013.

September 2012 - Term 3 has begun. Welcome back all CISC members. Just to remind you, this term commences Tuesday 11 September / Sunday 16 September and ends Tuesday 18 December / Sunday 16 December.

Annual Event - Castle Point Show 2012 - join us for this popular annual event on Sunday 17 June from 11:00am to 4:00pm @ Waterside Farm Recreation Ground, Somnes Avenue, Canvey Island - where there'll be plenty of live entertainment and activities.
LEISURE PASS INFO
ALL SWIMMERS 8 YEARS OLD +
All swimmers attached to Canvey Island Swimming Club either with Swim Squads or via our Swim School over 8 years old are required to have a Leisure Pass for Waterside Farm. There is a charge for the Leisure Pass additional to any club fees which are handled and paid directly to Waterside Farm.
These passes will need to be transferred over to Runnymede so swimmers can access the changing room area. The Committee has provided a list of squad swimmers to Waterside Farm Management and a copy of the list to Runnymede Management also. It is hoped that they can begin to transfer current passes over prior to squad members attending their first training session.
Swimmers should therefore locate their Leisure Passes for presentation on their first, and all future swimming sessions at Runnymede. It is suggested also that you attend early so if there has been any hiccup with individual or indeed the bulk transfer that this can be resolve in plenty of time.
ALL SWIMMERS UNDER 8 YEARS OLD
Children under the age of 8 where not previously required to have Leisure Passes at Waterside Farm. Runnymede however do required a Leisure Pass for the under 8’s. Parents will be relieved to know that these are issued without charge. However there is an application form to be completed.
Using club records we hope to partially complete these forms for parents review, but they will need checking and signing and we may miss some!
Passes are unlikely to be issued on your first attendance at Runnymede, but if we can complete the application forms before or at your first Runnymede swimming session this should help the overall process.
Again we suggest that swimmers arrive early for their session so we can complete any paperwork and pool staff can provide appropriate access to the pool facilities.
